Not another one of you people. Seriously, where do you all come from?
No buying skill points. Ever. In any fashion. Not with LPs, not with Aurum, not with ISK, not with cash. If you want immediate satisfaction, go play some other game where everything is handed to you and thus means nothing at all. The skill system in EVE is unique. You can't buy your way up the ladder. You can't grind your way through levels, though you can certainly grind your wallet to obscene levels. You can train skills more or less at the same pace as anyone else, providing you efficiently manage your training.
Another thing to keep in mind. Skill points are not the end all be all of EVE Online. While not having skills might limit what ships you can fly or what modules you can fit, it really takes very minimal time to train the minimum requirements for most things. Most newer players are not at the immense disadvantage against older players that they think they are. The difference between someone like me who spends 30 days training for a 2% rof/damage bonus and someone who spends four days training for the same weapon falls within a statistical margin of error where individual skill, not skill points, is more likely to be the determinant factor in the outcome.
Having a whole lot of skill points isn't always that much fun. On this character I can pretty much fly any ship, any race, use every weapon system effectively, short of capitals, which I loathe something fierce. But I spend the majority of my play time on any one of my many alt accounts that have far less SP. For me at least, they tend to be more fun. Though never quite as much fun as my early days of EVE when "unlocking" a new ship or module was something new and exciting, something to look forward to as the days and hours on the skill menu counted down ever so slowly. And when they finished? A sense of accomplishment.
Rambled on enough. To reiterate my opinion on your proposal, hell no. My counter proposal? Take my initial advice and find another game to play that better fits your need for instant gratification and meaningless "level ups". |
